Choose the account type that best suits your needs. Once you have entered all your details online, you will need to print a form, sign it and return it to us with a copy of your identification. Don't worry if you don't have a printer - you will be able to request that we mail you a completed form to sign. If you would rather not enter your details online, you can print a form to complete manually using the links below.

Account type Description How to apply
Individual or Joint A standard trading account with one or two account holders. Open Account Online or print form
Company A Company account is for incorporated businesses. Open Account Online or print form
Self Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) For a registered Self Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) or DIY Superannuation Fund. Open Account Online or print form
Margin Lending This is an account for those who use, or want to use, a Margin Lender for geared investments. Open Account Online or print form
Registered Body This is for a club or other non-incorporated body with an ARBN. Eg: Hornsby Tennis Club. Open Account Online or print form
Formal Trust For a Trust established as a legal entity under a formal agreement, such as a Family Trust. Open Account Online or print form
Minors For individuals under the age of 18. Open Account Online or print form
Options Account To trade Options, you will first need a CMC Markets Stockbroking trading account. If you do not have a trading account, select the account type for your circumstances from the list above and then print and send us the Options Agreement Form with your application. If you already have a trading account, please complete the Options Agreement Form. Print form
One-off Sale Use this form to easily sell issuer sponsored shares without needing to open a trading account. This is the ideal way to sell shares you have received in a float. Go to One-off Sale page
Partnerships For informal or formal partnerships that have been established as a legal entity under a formal agreement. Open Account Online or print form
Telephone only account This account type can only trade by phone and CHESS sponsorship and a CMC Markets Cash Account are optional. For accounts in the name of one or two individuals you can apply online, otherwise you should print an application form. Open Account Online or print form
